Our friends at the association La Loure in mainland Normandy remind us that their equivalent of a Séthée d’Nièr Beurre will be taking place in Vire, 8-10 October. Anyone travelling that way will be able to check out the differences and similarities between their sirop and our nièr beurre, and get back to Jersey in time for all the jollification of the cider and black butter festivities at home.

La prochaine fête du Sirop se déroulera du 8 au 10 octobre 2010, dans (et autour) de la cour du musée de Vire. Autour de la fabrication de cette confiture de pommes et de cidre nouveau cuisant à feu doux 24 heures durant, la fête battra son plein en chansons, musiques, jeux traditionnels…
