La nouvelle chanson dé Badlabecques entouor Pliémont.
Badlabecques’ new song about Plémont.
Notes on some of the Jèrriais words:
- Lé Bêtchi = the beacon (placename at Plémont, recalling the site of a signal fire – the prehistoric flint site also adds to the fire/spark imagery)
- radgîn = blazing fire
- Pliémont – the meaning of the name is obsure, but one theory is that it means the folded hill – hence “This hill enfolds the past”
- huthe = head/headland
