Here’s a version in modernised spelling of a poem by Jean Dorey (although there has in the past been some argument about the authorship) making fun of the Channel Islanders in turn (but especially our four-legged Guernsey cousins!)

SATIRIQUE ET FARCICO-CONMIQUE SUS LES DIVÈRS NÂTIONNAUX D’LA MANCHE.
Lé JÈRRIAIS couort quand i’ veurt donner assistance,
Lé Dgèrnésiais lève touos ses dgéthets quand i’ danse,*
L’Aur’gnais acate ordinnaithement quand i’ dêpense,
Lé Sèrtchais bait un vèrre quand il en a la chance,
