Since its publication in 1969, Eric Carle’s best-known work, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, has eaten its way into the hearts of millions of children all over the world, been translated into more than 80 languages and has sold over 60 million copies. This Jèrriais translation was launched during the Jersey Festival of Words 2025 and copies are being given to children in Reception classes across the island’s schools.
